Unfriendly, callous, and unhelpful staff member at this location. I have worked for many customer facing positions in my short life and don't understand what compels people to take these jobs just to be insincere and rude to customers. The island isn't large, especially in the winter when many leave for warmer states so after years of being here, she knows most names and addresses and what PO Box belongs to which name/address. My partner and I are in the middle of a move and staying at his parents' summer home here on Cobb Island during the winter months while we search for homes in Baltimore. During Xmas, I ordered a few items to be delivered, most being UPS or FedEx, so they deliver right to the front doors. Two items, unfortunately, were shipped by USPS and not ever using a PO Box before, I forgot to add that info in the delivery, just the address to the home. My boyfriends family has had this 2nd home for almost 2 decades, so she knows what PO Box belongs to this address (or can easily take a minute or two to look it up). She was unfriendly both times I went in to retrieve my package and seemed very upset when I forgot the PO Box and was very unpleasant. It made me rethink about ordering anything in the future using USPS. My boyfriend went in one day recently to see if a package from work delivered (not knowing if it was USPS, FedEx, or UPS) and once he asked if a package in his name (mind you, his family name has been associated with this post office for decades now) she quickly came back with a snide sounding and abrupt, "NO." Now, if it were me or anyone who took their job seriously, even if I knew the answer was know, as a customer facing representative I would offer to check the back or around the office to see if it actually was delivered (to make it known I was helping the customer as best as I could). She didn't do that... she was just rude. Since my interaction with her, I have made sure not to order anything through USPS shipping anymore and in the back of my mind, because my last name is different and using the PO Box number of my boyfriend's family, I feel like my mail isn't actually being placed in the box, and I have been expecting some mail to come in... but that may be me thinking negatively at this point. This employee needs more training or needs to find another job that is not customer facing.
