Said that they tried to deliver a (very important and anticipated) letter and left a slip saying “no authorized recipient available”. There were people home and the front door was open. Very upsetting that they didn’t even knock or ring the doorbell.

Pamela obviously got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. She was nothing but grumpy and no help at all. We finally went to a different post office.

Why wasn’t mail delivered at Shawme Heights II on Saturday, August, 8 2020 but there was mail today, Sunday, August 9th?

This branch of the USPS has to be comprised of some of the most incompetent, rude, and blatantly disrespectful people I've ever encountered in ANY business. I had multiple packages get lost within the system. OK, things happen, and I understand that. The items were being shipped from Rhode Island, and somehow ended up at this Sandwich branch not once, not twice, but three times without delivery, without notices left, or any notification whatsoever. In fact, (and because I had the items tracking updates sent to my phone) not only did they fail to deliver the packages.....but they sent them back to Providence. THREE times. The branch manager tried to tell me that "his regular guy" was out sick and that the "new kid" driving probably just didn't feel like getting out of the truck if the package wouldn't fit in my mailbox. I politely explained to this manager my situation, and he assured me that he would call the driver and get to the bottom of it considering this was now the 3rd time the tracking stated it had been delivered. In his own words, "we dropped the ball big time on this one" was followed by taking down my number and promising me I would get a return call of some kind after he attempted to reach the driver. Several hours later, I still had not received a call and the PO was only open for another hour. I decided to give them a call instead. Every time I had called prior to this particular evening, someone had answered the phone within 1-2 rings. However, when they know not only how bad they have already screwed up your holiday, but they still don't have an answer to explain this disaster...when that happens good luck trying to get a hold of ANYONE. I must have called 20 times in that hour, and every single time the call was cancelled on their end at a different point. People make mistakes. Maybe not nearly as much as USPS but they still make mistakes. And its only good business to own, and to help rectify that mistake to the best of your ability if it's your fault, right? I don't think I was asking for too much for the manager to call me after he had contacted the "replacement guy" that sounded like an obvious and blatant last minute lie. Instead I got ignored, lied to, and then hung up on a dozen times? I just don't understand what happened to showing pride in your work, or a little integrity by keeping your word? I realize that life has not been kind to you, and you do in fact work at the post office, but that is no reason to not do your job. I am disgusted.and will be taking this to the next level.
