I went to the UPS Store in Salem, Massachusetts to ship a simple broom—yes, a broom—back to its sender. What should have cost $27 tops ended up costing me a jaw-dropping $168. And just when I thought the damage was done, they tacked on another $25 just for tracking. Tracking! Something that’s standard with most carriers. This place is a masterclass in taking advantage of people who walk in expecting fair service. There was no transparency, no breakdown of why the price was so inflated, and absolutely no effort to help me find a more reasonable option. It felt like they were just waiting to gouge anyone who didn’t know better. If you value your money, avoid this location like the plague. I’ll never step foot in this store again, and I’ll be warning everyone I know. Salem deserves better than this.
