Started in 1900, the Harcourt Bindery is the largest bindery in the United States exclusively devoted to fine bookbinding by hand. Its clients include libraries and book dealers, collectors, and individuals who desire special bindings for themselves or for gifts and presentations. Harcourt uses only the highest quality leather and threads, and non-acidic adhesives and papers. Orders for single book and edition binding in leather, cloth, paper, slipcases and other portfolio boxes are welcome
In 2022, the bindery was acquired by Matthew and Adrienne Raptis of Raptis Rare Books as a part of their ongoing commitment to keep the tradition of book preservation a part of our history and culture.
