Terrible Service and Zero Accountability This Harvard Square Post Office is one of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. The customer service is absolutely terrible — the staff at the front desk are extremely slow, inefficient, and often rude. Every visit feels like an ordeal, and it seems like no one there takes responsibility for anything. To make matters worse, there’s a man — an older white gentleman with a beard who looks like Santa Claus — who sits in the lobby all day doing absolutely nothing. Most of the time, he appears to be asleep right there in the open. It’s baffling that taxpayer money is going toward someone literally sleeping on the job. I also had a package lost despite using Informed Delivery, and when I filed a complaint with the postmaster at the Central Square location, nothing was done. No one followed up, and my package was never found. This location is a complete embarrassment to the USPS. The management needs to be overhauled, the staff retrained, and some accountability put in place. As a customer and taxpayer, I expect far better service than this.

My recent experiences have been extremely frustrating and disappointing, and I believe they reflect broader issues that require immediate attention. I experienced and reported to the postmaster that the staff had either stolen or lost my package. Also, there is a significant delay in receiving a package that, according to tracking information, had already been delivered to the location. Despite multiple inquiries, I was told the package was unavailable for pickup and had to wait nearly a full week before finally being allowed to retrieve it. This delay was not only inconvenient but also unacceptable given the lack of clear communication or accountability. Furthermore, I have found the staff at this location to be consistently rude and unprofessional. On several occasions, I have encountered dismissive and arrogant attitudes when seeking assistance. There appears to be little regard for customer service or efficiency, which only adds to the frustration of dealing with lost or delayed packages. While I understand and appreciate that many postal offices employ diverse staff from various backgrounds, it is concerning that THIS LOCATION LACKS VISIBLE DIVERSITY and that ALL STAFF APPEAR TO BE FROM A SINGLE ETHNIC GROUP. One of them that his name starts with N letter, following me when I am picking up my mails from my box and patronizing me. More importantly, regardless of background, professionalism, respect, and customer service standards must be upheld at all times. It is deeply troubling that there seems to be no accountability for lost or mishandled packages, no apology for delays, and no effort to treat customers with respect. I urge the postal service management to investigate these concerns, improve staff training, and ensure better oversight of this location’s operations.

This was by far the most disgusting and outrageous service I have ever experienced with USPS. The clerk (name sounded like Tiegst) was completely unprofessional, rude, and clearly had no idea how to use the system. My package to China was returned due to their input mistake, yet when I tried to re-ship, she was utterly clueless and refused to help, only pushing me off to a manager. The most ridiculous part? A janitor had to step in to fix the issue for her! Even worse, they maliciously increased the package weight to charge me more, then threatened me with: “If you don’t pay, go fix it yourself.” On top of that, they tried to slap on a $200 “tax fee” with zero explanation. This is not just incompetence, it is blatant fraud. USPS should be ashamed to have employees like this. The service was disgraceful, hostile, and a complete scam. I have never been treated with such arrogance and dishonesty in my life.
