Does not have a self service kiosk as stated on the website and the agent attempted to overcharge me for my envelope. He insisted it was a package even though every definition on the usps website would call it an envelope. When I asked why he said “it doesn’t look like it”. I left without shipping because I wasn’t going to pay $7 for what should have been no more than $2.

I rarely leave reviews, but this USPS store is the most reliable USPS I’ve ever been too. The Asian male staff (unfortunately I didn’t ask his name) welcomed me and helped me label my package. The process was very smooth. He even bowed after I said thank you.

I came into this USPS location on Milk Street today, November 24th, to ship a package for my volunteering project. Since it’s the holiday season, I wanted to give back, and as a college student, I was trying to be mindful of cost. When I first approached the counter, I spoke with an older Asian man. He initially told me the shipping cost would be $63. Because I don’t usually ship items, I politely asked if he had any suggestions regarding box sizes or other options that might be more cost-effective. I even showed him the items inside to understand whether buying a new box would make more sense. Instead of offering guidance, he re-measured my box and suddenly increased the price to $123. I was confused by the dramatic jump and tried to rephrase my question, hoping for some clarity or advice. However, he would not make eye contact and repeatedly responded with, “I don’t know,” while pointing vaguely toward the boxes. This felt dismissive, especially since he had just changed the measurements and clearly knew there were other possible options. When I asked about the weight or alternative box choices, he acted as if it was a problem for me to even ask. The attitude felt unnecessarily hostile and petty, especially given that I was simply asking for guidance. I wasn’t rude or difficult at all, I was just trying to understand my options. What made the situation even more uncomfortable is that I overheard a coworker come over and ask him, “Why are you doing that to her?” That coworker also mentioned something about this man becoming a supervisor. Honestly, the way he treated me almost felt like a microaggression. It was unprofessional, unkind, and completely uncalled for. I hope management takes this review seriously. If this individual is being considered for or already serving as a supervisor, this is concerning. A supervisor should demonstrate patience, respect, and willingness to help. Not frustration, avoidance, and behavior that feels targeted.
