- PLpatrice LEEMar 7, 20191.0I went to the post office on yesterday 3/6 to pick up my package because I got a notification to my email saying my package was delivered on 3/5/19 @ 2:47pm. So I go to the post office there’s nothing in my box & no slip saying there’s a package?! I go to the front desk and ask if there’s a package for me because usps tracking is showing that it was delivered. I give the clerk my tracking number she looks it up & says it’s showing it was scanned & picked up on yesterday. I told her that’s not possible because I worked until 7pm on that day as well as my husband & no one else has access to my box. So she calls a clerk on the phone & the clerk says she handed my package to someone on 3/5 but she has no idea who she gave my package to. OMG very unacceptable!! The clerk then goes on to say let me take your phone number down & if the other clerk remembers who she gave it to we will give you a call. The items in my package cost right at $200 & this post office just handed it over their counter to someone without verifying if it was me. No signature no ID check or nothing! I asked if they have cameras to see who they gave my package to and she says no. How can a government building not have cameras?! I’m told the only thing I can do is file a claim. This is very upsetting, who ever is in charge of this post office needs to do better! You need better policies in place & more efficient employees. UNACCEPTABLE **UPDATE the young postal worker was nice enough to reimburse my money on 3/7 personally.
