My son had surgery almost a week ago and is still wearing a catheter, which is very painful for him. I called the post office to make sure I would have everything needed to obtain copies of new mailbox keys. I didn't want to waste a trip since A.) I have to find a ride there and B.) it hurts my son to sit in a car seat. I was told over the phone that all I would need is my driver's license with the current address on it. I asked repeatedly if that is all that's needed. She said yes. Once at the post office, I hand them my driver's license and the worker told me I need a statement from the landlord that I currently live there. I asked if current mail showing the address would work. She told me no. I wasted a trip and dragged my son out of the apartment for nothing. What was the point in me calling ahead of time to make sure I was prepared when they gave me false information? Get it together!
