On March 19, 2026, around 12:00 PM, at the Staples in Cold Spring, KY, I was purchasing approximately $300 worth of software. During checkout, I asked an employee if they could throw away a small piece of paper for me and was told, “No, we don’t take trash from customers.” The issue isn’t the paper—it’s the lack of basic courtesy. The response came across as dismissive and unnecessary, especially toward a paying customer in the middle of a transaction. Experiences like this reflect poorly on customer service standards and the overall brand. I would encourage management to review how situations like this are handled, as this was not a positive interaction. I would appreciate being contacted by store management or corporate to discuss this experience further.
