This USPS location in Alexandria KY is the five-star resort of snail mail. No exaggeration. The first thing I want to say is one issue I think often unfairly falls on USPS is when packages are shipped through Amazon, UPS, or FedEx — companies that don’t allow PO Box addresses and require a physical home address. But those packages somehow end up getting forwarded to my PO Box anyway, causing confusion. Last year, I had several packages marked as “forwarded and delivered by USPS” to my home address, and I immediately blamed USPS for losing them. After multiple complaints, I eventually realized the packages weren’t lost — they were sitting safely at my PO Box the whole time because Amazon, UPS and Fedex forwarded them? So, for anyone else in this situation: it’s not always USPS’s fault. Anyways this location is great! The staff are all Friendly, patient, and basically angels in USPS polos. I've had a mailbox here for a while now, and at this point, the folks at this location have unofficially become co-parents to my son's mystery packages. My son is an aviator in the military and currently deployed — but based on the number of packages he sends, you’d think he’s flying Amazon cargo planes on his off days. Turns out, not every online store ships to overseas APO addresses, so I’ve become the designated middlewoman for all his retail therapy. No big deal except He forgets I don’t possess psychic abilities and fails to mention he’s ordering stuff. So what happens? Surprise! Ten boxes just casually chillin' at the post office… sometimes for a month or two. Oops. Now I can neither confirm nor deny how often I actually check my mailbox. Let’s just say I’ve perfected the “walk of shame” when I ask about a package I may have ordered, while mentally bracing for the USPS employee to appear dragging out a full cart with my name on it. I"m not even kidding, they've actually had to give me my mail in one of those USPS totes so I could carry to my car.. But here’s the thing — this hasn't just occurs once or twice, it's pretty much a regular thing..But these USPS heroes have never once given a single eye roll. Not a single passive-aggressive “Hey lady, maybe check your mail sometime.” Nope they're always friends and nice...They’ve even stopped putting my stash in lockers because, well, I basically have my own suite at this point, and no need to hog locker space from customers who actually pick up their mail like responsible adults. And let’s take a moment for the gentleman who’s always at the counter. Calm. Cool. Collected. Dude knows how to work a line and strategically take care of customers by politely asking those shipping a handful of packages, if they'd mind waiting so the person behind them can take care of whatever quick task they need....Im pretty much convinced this dude could lead crisis negotiations and still smile while handing me my fifth package of the day... Never flustered, never judgy — even when I show up looking like a package pirate ready to claim lost loot. Oh, and the place? Spotless. Like, suspiciously clean for a post office. And unlike other USPS locations where a trip to the post office turns into an all day event like DMV lines that feel eternal, this location runs like a dream. .In and out because as mentioned above the dude behind the counter knows how to manage customers.. I’ve been to a lot of post offices across the country, and this one is the best I've experienced. USPS should give the staff raises or at least some recognition for their hard work and attention to customer service for representing the USPS brand extremely well.. My experience here is the reason I only ship with USPS now. Sure, UPS or FedEx might be cheaper and faster sometimes — but loyalty isn’t bought, it’s earned. And this team has earned mine. In a world where everyone has instant communication but no customer service, this Alexandria USPS location knows how to treat customers right and customers like myself notice and appreciate their hard work.

After not receiving a package which was marked as delivered, I filed a claim with the Alexandria Branch of the United States Postal Service. I received a timely phone call from the Alexandria Branch, who informed me that they personally investigated the matter. They checked the mailboxes at my apartment complex to assure it had not been placed in a different mailbox by accident, as well as the special package boxes within the apartment complex clubhouse. They personally spoke with staff at the apartment complex in another attempt to locate the package. Though they were unable to locate the package, they sincerely apologized for the oversight and directed me through filing the appropriate claims. I am so grateful for all of the assistance I received in this matter.

They are always super friendly and helpful when I come in. Additionally, they helped me fix an issue with a mail forwarded package in a timely manner.

Everytime I try to call and schedule an appointment for a passport I'm either put on hold and no one EVER picks up the phone again or I'm told someone will call me back and they NEVER do. Unfortunately I have to keep trying if I ever want to travel internationally.
