The low star rating isn't about the post office itself, it's the postal carriers and the post master in Sterling. I'm not sure if others in our rural community have been experiencing this, but throughout the 13 year period I have lived here, I have had SEVERAL packages and mail, ripped, damaged, shredded, things missing and just plain poor service. Products and shipping "costs money". People have to depend on the postal service to deliver them. Furthermore, I have contacted the post master himself as well, about this, several times, with of course "ZERO results". (A very coarse man) who obviously doesn't care that this has been happening. They continue to blame it on the machines processing the mail. Not to mention, speaking with another person at the Abbyville office herself, stated she has to check packages in to post as well if packages come in damaged or not, and if she has no record of the invoice numbers of that particular package being damaged, IT IS NOT A MACHINE. Yesterday, 9-8-18 I received another package, luckily it was a book, again, the carrier pulls into the driveway and honks for someone to rush out and get the package, so my husband (who is WORKING) steps out of the shop to get it, the carrier fully admits to him, that he could not "crush" the package enough for it to fit into the mailbox.😡 Again, this isn't the first time this has happened. So you tell me if that can be blamed on a machine, to blatantly admit, you're doing this??!!! So I'm saying this out loud, if I have one more package damaged because of a lazy mail carrier or because the post master can't or won't do his job, to rectify this problem, someone other than me, will be paying for the damage!😡😡
