I've been going to this post office for 60 years beginning st their old location downtown Zionsville. I have NO complaints about anyone working there but why do people have to bring in their packages and gifts unprepared to ship and packa everything at the front teller window one at a time. I was just there (yes its the holidays) but no matter, a lady brought in a large handled grocery bag with multiple open envelopes (14 x 12) and packed each one at the window one at a time and then sorting out what goes in each one. The teller was NOT happy but remained very polite. I, being in line was just getting ready to light into this inconsiderate waste of our time. She then proceeds to need individual customs forms filled out for each package. WHY CAN'T YOU PEOPLE DO THIS ON THE COUNTER PROVIDED OTUSIDE THE TELLER AREA?? Isn't "be prepared" also the girlscout motto? The line extended from her, clear to the double doors outside. The PO only had 2 out of 3 tellers and were moving as fast as they could. Is this caused by common rudeness in society? This is something the postal services should stop. USPS might like it and the employees there hate it. Unfortunately too many people are simply lazy and spineless to lift their own finger to think about their actions and considerations for others.

I received a package that had a sticker on it saying return to sender. The return address on it was mine. I did not send the package however and the contents consisted of a small piece of cardboard that had been torn off and a teabag (or something like it inside. I tried to contact the post office all day to see if they could help determine if this was something that should be reported. No response to phone calls. It would ring for a few minute and then hang up on me. Why have a phone number if you don't answer. No way to leave a message. Terrible. The 800 number was worse. It locked you into a call tree with no option to talk to anyone. I looped around trying various options for at least 30 minutes. Nothing.

The Zionsville post office seems to have generally figured out the customer service problems that the USPS seems to suffer from. Maybe it's the staff. Overall a consistent good experience.
