I’ve returned hundreds of items via Amazon at my local UPS in Zionsville. When I stopped at this location they said they can only take it if I email them the label and pay $4 for them to print it. I explained it’s an Amazon return and the guy at the counter said that’s the only way they get paid which makes no sense. It’s a pre-paid label! Seems like a scam by the store to charge customers more.

This store has gone downhill over the last 6 months or so. Employees are often new and don’t know how to do their job well. They seem lost, understaffed, and undertrained. The place has been without flooring, furniture, or PO Boxes for months.
I’ve been a customer here for years and rely on it for business. Employees seem like good people. Seems like an ownership / management issue?

Always on it some people posting reviews don’t understand that this place is always packed at various times during the day they don’t deserve the negative reviews.
Yes, they are currently in the middle of mid remodel but that’s acceptable as well. They have a nice clean area and they’re still well equipped to do most things shout out to Jacob today. He was freaking amazing and was very helpful with information given to me. I will continue to use this location and recommend to others.

Good evening. I am not sure what is going on with this location, but the staff needs work. I speak 2 languages. One of them is English. It seems that there is a failure in communication.
I have attempted to return a package 3 times (including today). I am not new to doing returns there. Simple procedure is to follow the directions of the Amazon return (in this case), which is to bring the package into the UPS store, present the QR code, they scan said code, and they package it up (if no box or label is needed) and handle the rest. Simple, no?
If there are new rules within the last month or 2, then I am unaware and it needs to be communicated to the customers AND Amazon, which is not my problem. My first attempt at returning this single package, I was told to contact Amazon because the UPS store's system wouldn't process the QR code that I provided from Amazon. Ok.....that is new. 3 employees and no one could properly help nor did it seem like they understood or cared in general. Frustrated, I gave up and contacted Amazon like they said. Amazon set up a home pickup for me. I figured that would be easiest since physically going to the store failed. That attempt (2nd now) failed because apparently I missed the driver that I was apparently supposed to wait around all day for, EVEN THOUGH I asked 3 TIMES to Amazon "customer service specialist" if I needed to be present at the time of pickup. The instructions were that the driver would take the package, (they) PACKAGE IT UP, and everything is fine. So the driver left a new label and the package at my home.
So the new set of Instructions were that I could take the package to the UPS store as it is, along with the label. So today (after 1 week of this), I take both the package and label to the UPS store. The package had everything packed inside, as I've done several times before with other packages. I try to make the process easy for them and myself so we can all go on about our day.
This final attempt was successful, but still there were still issues in communication. What it SEEMS like is that I was supposed to tape everything myself before bringing it in. I heard the new woman say that she was told to only use "one piece of tape," from one of her coworkers. Then one of the men that I've seen before said to her, "If he (me) is ok with how it is packaged (with one piece of tape), then that's fine." My issue with how it was said is because it sounded like the responsibility was on me if the package doesn't make it.
Again, I am just a simple customer who knows nothing about their protocol and frustrations. Here is how it should have gone if that was the case:
"Good evening sir (we establish that I am returning a package). Ok sir, it seems that for this barcode (shows me) it requires for the customer to properly seal the box, otherwise it unfortunately would be the customer's responsibility if there is an issue during shipping." IF they wanted to be extra courteous they could have ended with "I can seal it for you this time, but just please be aware for the future." Not required, but courteous. I get that that might have gotten abused by others. I understand.
Communication is key for everything. From what I witnessed, they are only "trained" in operations and not communication, which is part of proper customer service. I don't understand why that is such a problem within society today. Why do people like to ice skate uphill?? We all have things to do and schedules to keep. Help us, the customers, and we will help you. COMMUNICATION, a simple thing that could have avoided.....another... less than satisfactory review (already at a 3.7 on Google) and unnecessary frustration.
