I needed to get a package out but was going to be ~5 minutes late after close. I called and they were receptive to accepting the package and getting it on the truck. It's such a small thing but really helped me out.

We moved into our new house on November 3rd. We didn't even check for mail for almost 2 weeks. When we did finally check for mail, there was none, just a piece of paper telling us to raise our mailbox 12". The previous homeowner didn't have to raise it so I went to the post office and asked them why we needed to. I took a picture to show them, because our box is only 3" shorter than the neighbors. They said it was the carrier's right to request the change. Fine. So we inspected the box and found that the entire post is rotted from the base down. Ok, I now understand why she didn't want to deliver our mail. However, it's way to insecure to add to the top of it. We live on US20 and the ground is packed hard anyway, but with it now being frozen, it's exponentially harder to replace it right now. Once spring comes, we have no problem doing an overhaul. Well today I went to the post office because I knew I had packages. When the lady at the front went to get them, someone in the back said "oh yea, the ones who refuse to fix their mailbox because the ground has been frozen for 3 months". When I was given my package, I told her I heard what they lady said. She said that lady was my mail carrier. Listen, I've only lived in that house for 5wks and 5 days. We had no idea the mailbox was not usable when we bought it. If we were in spring or summer or fall, we would've already fixed it. But it's December and the ground is frozen. Like I said, we live on US20 and a patch job isn't going to work because the first time we get s lot of snow, the snow plow will knock it over. It needs a total overhaul. And that will have to wait. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but there is NO need for the carrier to be so rude. It's not our fault. We haven't even lived there for 6 weeks. I've had so many issues with this post office it's not funny.
