I have visited this location three times recently while on a professional contract here in Indiana. My initial visits were necessitated by a technical failure: the external drop box lever was jammed, requiring in-person service. Although equipment maintenance needs improvement, this situation allowed me to witness a level of professional stewardship that is increasingly rare. The staff here consistently demonstrates professionalism and compassion. However, one individual, Mike, exemplifies exceptional professional standards. During my first extended wait of about 20 minutes at a peak time, I observed Mike assisting a young woman with a passport application. Despite the complexity and a growing line, he ensured the customer never felt rushed or overwhelmed. He communicated specialized knowledge clearly and respectfully, never assuming prior understanding. After my wait, he efficiently directed me to an interior bin for prepaid packages, making future visits easier. My most recent experience further increased my respect for Mike’s approach. While I was in the lobby gathering Priority Mail supplies, I met a young man who was overwhelmed by the process for mailing a money order. As we reviewed the instructions, Mike left the secure area to proactively audit supply levels. I suggested the young man ask Mike for help, and in just two minutes, Mike provided clear, actionable guidance that resolved the issue and ensured the customer felt respected. Witnessing this level of competence and genuine kindness restores confidence in public service. Mike is a credit to the USPS and exemplifies high professional standards. Even when I do not interact with him directly, observing his workflow and dedication to customer service is uplifting and sets a high standard for the Indianapolis area. In summary, while Mike is the main reason I recommend this branch, the entire facility maintains a high standard of service. For the most efficient experience, I suggest using Google Maps' "Popular Times" feature to visit during off-peak hours. This allows you to enjoy excellent service without long lines. Here, the quality of human interaction far outweighs any minor logistical challenges.

Rude. I avoid this post office. Every employee hates their job and is very rude and inconsiderate. There could be 10 people in line and the worker will get up, moving as slow as can, to wipe their nose. I will drive 20 mins out the way to go to another post office

This post office represents an astonishing failure of basic public service. Interactions with the staff have become something I actively dread; their conduct has been consistently rude, and at times outright verbally abusive. Mail delivery is equally unacceptable—items that once arrived within one or two days now routinely take nearly a week, even when sent from within the same area. The persistent dysfunction and lack of accountability at this location exemplify the broader shortcomings of this independently operated government agency, which has demonstrated, time and again, that it is in urgent need of structural reform—privatization included.
