However, in the past few months I've deposited three packages inside the building at the dropbox, two with tracking numbers. All went missing. Only one has been recovered. The recovered package had a tracking number that showed as invalid for two weeks. The post office was not helpful in troubleshooting. It sounds like I would have no recourse if this package was never found and the tracking number continued to show as invalid. That defeats the purpose of having a tracking number. Fortunately, at least for this package, I can now see where it is. I've lost faith in this service and will likely use UPS when I have an option going forward.
