Wow, who would’ve thought that the United States Postal Service in Fortville Indiana would have hundreds of one star reviews and maybe two acceptable reviews?
This place is run worse than a backwoods gas station in the middle of nowhere!
I mailed my mother a card last November for her birthday, she never received it until mid December. This past Tuesday, I mailed something to Florida, to my son, just an envelope with things in it, and it left Fortville Friday. It was guaranteed to arrive in Florida by Friday.
Why is this acceptable? This is the USPS, for the love of God, if you want to work there, actually do your work. And if you don’t want to actually do your work, quit your damn job and let somebody else have the job.
They don’t even deliver mail in this town except every few days, when he feels like delivering mail. I’ve never seen anything like it in my entire life, and I’m 55 years old😭😭
Why is it just so hard to do what you’re supposed to do and sort and send the mail? Let’s not act like you’ve got 10 million pieces of mail every day, it’s Fortville, for God sake. I’m about to make my second report to the postmaster general, somebody needs to find a new postmaster for Fortville.
When I went in to mail the letter to my son, he was at the counter, and I asked him which mailer I should put it in. He told me which one I should put it in, and then he went in the back as I was filling out the envelope, he never came back out. I stood out there for 10 minutes and finally saw that there was a bell on the wall to ring, so I rang it, and another girl came out and helped me. I could literally hear him talking on the other side of the divider, and yet somehow he thought it was OK to just forget about me and not come back out to help me? Who is this guy? And why is he the postmaster in Fortville?
I’m gonna go on our Town‘s Facebook pages and see if I can’t hype up some people to let’s try to make change in Fortville at our post office. The Postal Service is supposed to work for the people of the United States of America, this guy doesn’t even work, much less for us. It’s really kind of disgusting to me, that he has A job, that’s important, and he treats it like a job at that backwards gas station I was talking about earlier in my review. I hope he gets fired, I sincerely hope that he gets fired.

People closed the shutter and are inside listening to the songs with high volume and no matter how many times I pressed the push for service button no one showed up. I waited for so long and pressed the service bell like 7 times. Lot of people came and turned back. No wonder why this post office has less ratings. Worst service by usps. You could close this branch actually because it's of no use to people.

Every time I go into this Post Office in Fortville the people are rude. You can hear the employees gossiping behind the wall while you wait for them to acknowledge you. The place is a mess and some days it smells like smoke. Then they stamped my mail with the wrong date.🙄 So frustrating that this is our only option in our cute little town.

I just witnessed someone from this post office deliver a package by THROWING IT OUT OF THEIR VEHICLE! It is just fortunate that you are closed at this very moment, or you would be hearing about this experience PERSONALLY. I understand that this is a busy time of year, but guess what, THIS IS YOUR JOB. I will be sure to follow up about this outrageous incident.
