But the post office should make an effort to let the resident know their mail has been put on hold and will be sent back to sender. At least send an email or have the delivery driver stop at the house to make sure the resident is aware they have mail on hold., before the mail is sent back to sender. The driver even knew I was at home but did not feel the need to let me know. Whether it's their job or not to get out of their vehicle to inform me, they should have the decency to let me know the mail is going to be returned to sender. It's no wonder the USPS is the typical last choice anymore.
