- JJJocelynJun 14, 20252.0I was trying to cash a Poastal money order given to my son for his birthday. Only $170. They said they have no money to cash it. To come back in 30min to ask other lady (maybe she could help). So I wait...she said I only have $125. They called around the stores in the area. (Oak Forest, Posen) which was nice. I called them back later in the day to see if they would have the money by the end of the day. Left my number to call me. Never did. Day 2 going in (they stopped picking up the phone) and calling around area. Same guy finally picked up phone said thought you were coming back yesterday. I aid i left my number for you. I never got a call back to let me know. I have a 2year old not going to just keep showing up 3x a day. When you can easily call me. Also went to the currency but they only cash $50 and under for postal money order. So went back to Poastal office. The Poastal lady in the front, same lady 3x now, tell me "NO" with an attitude, rolling her eyes at me today. Yesterday no attitude.Stating she just got to work 1pm (same thing she said yesterday 2pm), am not going to make that in my drawer today and we close at 3pm. Don't ever get a money order from the postal, you won't get the money back from their location. IN MY OPINION. But am sure they will take your money to make one. Good luck cashing it, if they don't keep cash at any of there locations in this area, to cash it. What a joke. Getting attitude with customers for trying to cash money order. A money order that you CANT CASH because you don't have money. For dayyyys. Yeah okay. No solutions, just call back or go to another location. Or just keep calling right before close each day to see if they might have enough. Whomever is manager/ownership leave some cash for money orders please. Smh. Or don't make money orders out, you cant cash. Why can't the postal office even leave cash with the head manager's or head cashiers for proper transactions with receipts for Poastal money orders?

I did this because those offices had extremely low ratings, even if you account for a skewed ratio (generally, unhappy customers rate businesses far more often than happy customers). I was not disappointed. All I found here was friendliness and efficiency. Darlene was an absolute gem. I honestly did not have the energy to deal with someone grumpy today, and while I don't begrudge anyone having a bad day, I just wanted to see a friendly face, especially since I had an unusual mail request. The Midlothian post office delivered, pun intended. ❤️
