I should do some breathing exercises before writing this review… As a local business owner, it’s important that I take the time to highlight the blatant disregard I was shown this evening by the staff at this post office. Since the interior lobby kiosk is no longer available for after hours use, the only way my packages were going to be scanned as in-transit is if I was able to move mountains and make it to the only post office in the area open until 6:30pm. I let nothing stand in my way… yet upon my arrival at 6:22pm I found the main entrance door to be locked. I knocked loudly and eventually the female employee behind the counter makes eye contact. I wave and then wait but no one comes. The desk agent appears un-phased by my presence. I walk around the building and see that a second door is ajar so I walk in and observe a male and two female employees chatting casually. The male instructs me to immediately leave the premises as I have violated the rules by encroaching upon his space. I proceed to inform him that I, in fact, prefer to utilize the front entrance, however, for some unknown reason, that door is locked and as you can see, I have a tote bag full of packages that must be processed. He continues to behave as if his life is in danger and tells me that no further discussion is possible until I depart. I repeat that my objective is to enter through the front door so that I might conduct the business I intended to accomplish, but that the front door is mysteriously locked. The supervisor on duty comes out to the sidewalk to express how I must be mistaken because the door was not locked at 6:22. I then inform her that I have the incident recorded so there’s no point in continuing to claim that I am fabricating what I had just experienced. She went on to say that it is unfortunately too late for her to be of any assistance since the registers are now closed and can not be reopened. I pointed out that even at the precise moment she stood there making such claims, the time was not yet 6:30pm. So, it was evident to me that she had no intention of apologizing for the inconvenience this has caused me nor would she be accepting my packages. Both she and her disrespectful male co-worker excitedly conveyed how I am free to file an online complaint if I so desire. Clearly something neither one fears will have any ramifications for them as federal employees…. BUT Ai WILL and I know I am not alone in the anticipation of the day when all the USPS branch locations are re-staffed with robotic Ai technology.
