If I can give this postal office 0 stars I would. Darla D. is unprofessional and rude. Post office opened at 8:30 and how is someone already in a bad mood. My experience there was awful and don’t recommend anyone going to her.

I just don't understand why I don't receive the weekly grocery ads and coupons that sometimes come in the paper on Thursday. I've complained on the phone before, and was told they run out of them occasionally. But Steger never runs out and their ads are delivered with their papers on Wednesday. I hate to blame the letter carriers, as their service is usually fine, but it must be someone's fault.

I realize that the weather is extreme. But...my driveway is clear, sidewalk is open to the front door, mailbox accessible. And we were still there. No note was left as they claim they did. Really? Don't lie. Just say you didn't try because of the weather.

We absolutely Love our mail carrier Sue Holiday! She’s been delivering our mail for years now and when she is working, we have never had a problem with our service. She is kind, knows exactly what she’s doing and is always on time! However, when we have a different carrier, we don’t have a problem with the time it’s delivered but we’ve gotten other people’s mail and have had to go put it in the correct persons mailbox. I’ve had mail I was expecting and never received which makes me wonder if it was delivered to the wrong address and the person who got it didn’t bother to make sure they put it in my mailbox. The staff at the office is always kind to me when I come in. The one time I didn’t receive a package, I went in and told them that it showed that it was delivered from the company but I never received it and they said that the Post Master wasn’t available and would call me back. He NEVER called me back. The company I dealt with was very accommodating and sent me another package which I did receive. I don’t know what we would do if our mail carrier retired because it’s rare to get someone who is this fantastic! Update I order from Amazon and 99% of the time I get packages on time. However this past Saturday I was expecting a package and we were home all day and it never came. I got a text from Amazon saying the post office was unable to deliver because they couldn’t access the front door. First off, I got mail in the box on the street. My regular carrier wasn’t working and whoever was delivering must not wanted to do their job and put it in the box or pull in my large driveway. Now I have to track down where my package is. Very annoying to know that I cannot count on my delivery if my regular carrier isn’t working. I have tried to call and it loops you around and you can’t get a live person on the phone.

Update 2/22/19: Today was the second time that this branch has failed to deliver packages and then marked them online as "undeliverable" because they couldn't access my mailbox, front door, or driveway. The message online also said to look for a note from the carrier at my house. I work from home and watch for the mail. The carrier placed letters in the mailbox today. I belive this is an issue where USPS is failing to meet the commitment with Amazon so rather than looking like it is their fault, they enter into the computer that it is the customer's fault. I especially belive this to be true because they did this during the polar vortex as well. They didn't even deliver mail for a few days, so obviously it wasn't my fault they didn't deliver. Why not just leave it in the system as out for deliver or update the expected delivery date? It is very frustrating that they're placing the blame on me and confusing as well because I don't know if I need to go to the post office to get my package or just wait until tomorrow since no note was left. Update 11/18/18: Issue seems to be resolved, but at this point it could either be because of USPS resolution or simply because I've almost closed the estate and do not receive much (if any) important mail in my father's name any longer. Very dissapointed in this whole situation. Update 4/19/18: Went in today to discuss the issue at hand. After waiting for them to research the issue in the back of the shop, the employee who was assisting me advised that they see no hold on the mail, but they will let my carrier know. She also said it could be an issue with sorting at their Bedford facility where they are rejecting it prior to it reaching Crete as I previously had mail forwarding on. I am still overall unhappy and am worried I will continue to not get mail. I will update again once I see the outcome of today's visit. Original review: Very unhappy with this location. My father passed away about a year ago. When the mail forwarding ended I went in and asked that they please go ahead and deliver to his home in Crete as I have possession of the house and will be up there regularly as I am moving in soon. They had me write my name, address and phone number on a scrap of paper and said they would resume service. Fast forward two months and I just received a call from the woman who manages billing for the subdivision's water and trash stating Crete has returned the water bill to sender AGAIN. If the post office had told me that they would have a problem resuming delivery I would have taken appropriate action back then. -unhappy future resident
