Would give zero stars if I could. Several times now the mail carrier delivering to 60625 has marked packages as delivered around 7:30-8pm when in fact nothing was delivered. Sometimes they show up 2-3 days later. Can’t believe this person is allowed to continue being employed.

This continues to be the worst post office in the city of Chicago, if not the entire country. I live down the street from here but will go out of my way to visit other locations because this one is so, so awful. Today, I unfortunately had no choice but to drop off some mail at this location. I was shipping safety matches, which I have sent and received via mail dozens of times. The woman at the counter, who claims to be the supervisor, refused to let me ship them. I have never once been told I can’t ship matches and, again, have been sending/receiving them for years. After I told her this, she became very aggressive and started yelling at me and said sending matches is illegal. I told her I’ve sent them from the Montrose location and the Ashland location, and she said she would call these locations to tell them they can’t ship matches. I left the building only to find that USPS.com says you can send safety matches via ground. I have attached a screenshot from their website. So, this “supervisor” is just making up her own rules to inconvenience people — which is something that all the people who work here take joy in doing. When I walked back in to show her the screenshot, I heard her on the phone “warning” the Montrose location about me coming there to ship matches. Again, THIS IS LEGAL AND I HAVE DONE IT COUNTLESS TIMES. I told her I would be reporting her to whoever will listen. (Which, unfortunately, is an empty threat… because if anyone WAS listening, this location would have been shut down or restaffed years ago.) I am sick of taking abuse from the sadists who work here and I’m sure the rest of the neighborhood is too. The workers I’ve had the displeasure of interacting with at this location are lazy, combative, and rude. And I’m obviously not the only one who feels this way… I mean, how is it possible for a POST OFFICE to have a 1.8 star rating?!? The people of Lincoln Square, and Chicago, and everyone else who sends or receives mail deserve so much better. I will continue to drive to other neighborhoods to drop off my mail because I refuse to be berated by these workers ever again. PS - It wouldn’t surprise me if the other mail I dropped off here “accidentally” got lost after this incident. Like I said, the employees here enjoy watching their customers suffer!

After waiting in line for 15 minutes for our passport appointment at 2:00 they made an announcement saying that the woman who does passport appointments leaves at 1:45. Just a warning if you plan to use the service there.
