Misdelivers mail and packages CONSTANTLY. Forces you to put a name on your mailbox, only to ignore the name and put any letter in there. Refuses to redeliver packages they misdeliver.

I sometimes come in after work to drop off my rent check and there is one woman who works here that always makes you feel like an idiot for simply walking through the door. The first time I came in, it was because it was past the last collection time on the box outside. I don't want a late fee on my rent, so I went inside to drop it off. I was polite and said I was just dropping it off real quick to make sure it was postmarked with todays date. she looked me up and down and asked why I didnt just drop it in the box, in a tone of voice that implied I was stupid for coming inside. I was embarrassed and have bad social anxiety, so I just mumbled about how I wanted to make sure it would get postmarked with todays date. She continued giving me a look and said that everything would get postmarked with todays date, again with a condescending tone like im an idiot. I just said thank you and left. Today I came inside to do the same thing, and the same woman was working. as I was walking in the door she loudly told me they closed in three minutes while giving me a dirty look. I said "okay" and walked past her to use the inside drop box because I did not want to interact with her. the USPS is an underappreciated service. I just wish they didnt make me feel like an idiot for actually using their service.

I was lucky to have this post office as my neighborhood branch for a decade when I lived in downtown Champaign. I can say confidently that although USPS has its issues, this location is one of the best after visiting many different post offices across Illinois. Special shout out to Vernessa, who consistently provided kind and competent service to me and everyone who came through the doors. It is rare to encounter someone so patient and sweet in a high stress customer service role, and I very much appreciate her kindness over the years :) I sent over 200 packages from this post office over many years and experienced an issue with one or two of them only (i.e. <1%).
