  I was purchasing a printer to replace the exact make and model of printer I had been using for more than 10 years, so I a knew what I wanted and what to expect. I ordered the new printer online through the Iowa City Staples store in the evening after closing. What impressed me was the ease of place the order for the printer and the warranty package online and the effort they took to get it shipped to the store from another location overnight. When we went into pick it up the next morning the staff had everything ready to go and waiting. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and answered evey question. They even allowed us to recycle the old printer at no charge. Since it was after hours and and I knew it wasn't in stock in Iowa City I took some time to check other stores and online source besides Staples. One place did not allow any calls to their Iowa City store, an we were only allowed to "speak" with their AI before being sent onto a call center in "Southeast Asia". When I asked why I couldn't s[eak with an actual person in the store who could tell me whether a printer was actually in stock I was advised that AI allowed them to offer a "perfect" experience. They also insisted that the "perfect" experience was to ship the printer to the office about 10 days later and to charge a $49.95 "haul off" fee to dispose of the old printer. The other place would not have the printer available for about 2 weeks unless we drove to another state. Next time I will just stick with Staples from the start.

  I had a terrific experience on 2/27/2026, late Friday. Kai and Zack were extremely helpful. I would highly recommend these folks.

  The store is orderly. There is limited help on the “floor”… they were focused on accepting returns for UPS and I had to wait to actually make a purchase in between the returns they accepted. It was interesting - I did not see anyone making a return actually shop for anything in the store.

  Zach in Printing was an amazing help today! He helped make sure my print was quick and would fit my project! Definitely will go back to Zach for other projects!
