Visited today to send a letter, only to find the Post Office closed despite the opening hours online clearly stating it opens at 9am.
People have busy lives and plan their visits around advertised opening times, so it’s extremely frustrating to arrive and find it closed especially when this has happened a number of times now.
There was no apology or explanation, just someone telling me the Post Office was closed. When I asked when it would open, I was told, “Erm, about an hour-ish.” That really isn’t acceptable.
I appreciate the importance of having a local Post Office and the service it provides to the community, but that also means customers need to be able to rely on it being open when advertised.
If opening times need to change, that’s understandable, but the information online needs to be kept up to date. Turning up expecting the Post Office to be open at 9am, only to find it closed with no clear indication of when it will actually open, is incredibly frustrating.
Hopefully this can be addressed, as a little consistency and communication would make a big difference.
