Came today to get my passport renewed as it says it’s open to find it’s closed with a SALE sign on it 😔 What is happening with our post offices? I went to West Wickham last week to find that also closed as no staff!!!

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the Oxted Post Office this morning!
I visited the branch to send my driving licence application to the DVLA for a name change and to purchase a prepaid tracked return envelope so that my documents could be returned safely and securely with tracking.
The member of staff who served me was unhelpful, dismissive, and spoke to me in a very rude tone throughout the entire interaction.
I was sent back to the queue three separate times because the staff member did not know what payment was required for the DVLA application. I was then told there was no envelope available and that I should go and find one myself. At another point, I was told that if I knew the amount that needed to be paid, he would simply take the money, despite not knowing the process himself. I was also informed that part of the payment had to be made in cash, requiring me to leave and withdraw money, while stamps could be paid for by card.
What upset me the most was not the confusion around the process, but the way I was spoken to. The tone was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional, and I felt as though I was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a customer seeking assistance.
I would expect Post Office staff to be properly trained and able to assist customers with common services such as DVLA applications. The standard of customer service I received today fell far below what should be expected from a UK Post Office branch.
Overall, a very disappointing experience, and unfortunately one of the worst customer service experiences I have had.

Rude and unhelpful every time I go in there, except for the lady who works there. Both men are unwilling to help or do their jobs. Would be willing to let it go if the parcels actually got where they needed to go, but they lost my parcel this time and offered no apology or help in fixing the problem. No explanation as to where it had actually ended up. Wouldn't recommend using this post office until they hire better staff.
