Post Office Service Extremely Poor. Refused to accept cash that I wanted to deposit into my bank account, telling me first of all that it wasn't legal tender (Paper £50) and then when I asked if it would be accepted at a main post office, I was told that the member of staff on duty was forbidden from taking these notes by the owner!! I had to then make a 25 min journey to another post office who had no problem at all in taking them. They are legal tender until September 2022!!!!!! Jokers!!! 09/12/22 Tried this post office again for the first time since the above incident, and endured another shocking experience. I went to deposit cash to my bank account and was told they were on strike and couldn't help. I AGAIN had to take the drive to Guildford where lo and behold there was no issue. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Official memo from the Post Office Website The Communication Workers Union (CWU) have advised Royal Mail and ParcelForce Worldwide of industrial action on 9, 11, 14 and 15 December 2022 Post Office is NOT involved in this dispute and our branches will remain open, however there will be some disruption to letters and parcel collections on the dates of the industrial action Please visit the Royal Mail or Parcelforce Worldwide website to find more information on how services will be impacted. There will be some disruption to the following services on days of industrial action: Posting letters and parcels Drop & Go Travel money Banking (cheque deposits) Some identity services (e.g. paper form passport check and send) Most non-mail transactions will not be affected. For example, bill payments and most banking transactions.
