I've been using this post office for years and leaving reviews is not something I do but I have to say the comments I leave now are well deserved and it gives me an opportunity to say thank you to Raj and her team for delivering, in my opinion, excellent service year in, year out.
The staff are polite, helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable on postal services available and the best option to use. It's a busy post office with often a queue in which to wait. I can only imagine how hard it must be for staff here to deal with unpleasant customers. I've seen first hand how rude some customers can be when requiring postal services.
My experiences at High Howdon Post Office have always been good ones and I will and do, go out of my way to use this branch for the positive reasons I've mentioned in this review.

Hit or miss staff. Typically blunt but fair but today was awful. Accidentally printed the wrong label weight for a letter and was near publicly humiliated - loudly announcing the content was 'way way over the weight' (70g). Comments such as 'do you not have scales at home. Made to feel horrible and like a complete idiot just for trying to post a letter. Unnecessary and rude. Will make the extra effort to go elsewhere in future.

If the post office clerk was able to put their mask on properly that would be very beneficial, however we wouldn’t be able to fully understand just how miserable and rude they actually are. Do not use the post office in here unless you want to be ignored and treated like someone kind of stray animal. Also don’t expect them to adhere to their own opening hours as they like to pick and choose when they work at your inconvenience.
