AIT Home Delivery’s final mile experts are U.K. pioneers when it comes to providing two-person delivery of big and bulky goods directly to consumers’ homes with value-added white glove services like room of choice, installation, and debris removal.
Completely useless
Where to start. I ordered a large toolchest and paid nearly £100 for delivery. I chose the company because they said their delivery was to the room of my choice, packaging removed, nothing too much trouble... whereas cheaper places were upfront and said curbside only. OK fine, I'll pay the extra for no stress.
Order placed fine, text from AIT saying they'd deliver it on Thursday, text the evening before giving a time window. All fine.
This is where it all fell apart. Three man team turned up in a hire van, clearly freelancers and from the start one of the three looked fed up. He said right we're just dropping this off on this pallet. Nope, I said, as per agreement, it's room of my choice and remove packaging. Nope said mr stroppy pants, we're not allowed, it's insurance, health and safety (the usual excuses when people can't be bothered doing their job).
Straight on the phone to head office he goes, "we cant do this job, customer doesnt care, insisting we try, not safe" blah blah blah.
I phoned the company from which I purchased who, to be fair, tried their hardest to get the delivery folks to, you know, DO THEIR JOB!
Finally the company I ordered from insisted on the delivery people unpacking the product and at least trying to deliver it to the room. The grumpy guy was clearly very annoyed, got it to the door and immediately said "nope, impossible, I'm not risking my safety on this you can only have it dropped of outside."
The other two guys looked like they'd have tried a bit harder but didn't want to annoy mr. grumpy pants.
All the time I was on the phone to the place I ordered from and then the delivery people would pass me the head office phone to arrange outside delivery. So juggling two phones + a crew of people saying nope never going to fit and we're not going to try.
In the end there was zero option, they were going to leave it outside whatever I said so I reluctantly said ok. They dropped it on the way scuffing/scratching several drawers (not that they admitted it) and put it face against the wall so I couldn't see the damage.
The place from which I purchased was understanding and even the AIT head office was polite and reasonable but no one could do anything about a grumpy pants at the address who wouldn't do his actual job.
In the end a couple of furniture removal people saw it outside and said I can get that in for you mate no problem. 90seconds and it was in, wheels attached and put exactly where I wanted it. So much for "impossible angles" and "not safe for us to do".
I don't even think mr.grump was after a back hander, I think he just couldn't be bothered doing his job.
And THAT is the problem with AIT. You may be lucky and get a crew who care, are trained and experienced, then you get a crew who are fedup, want the money but not the work and are just looking for ways not to do their job. You won't know until they arrive so you just can't count on the job being done properly.
I have full video of the ait crew being utterly amateur as well as dropping the unit, and then an hour later, video of the 90seconds it took the removal guys to get the product in with no moaning.
So, you pay the money, roll the dice and you take your chance. Will you get a good crew or amateurs who will use every excuse under the sun not to do their job.
I'll be making very sure not to buy from any company who use AIT in the future. That's a shame because in theory, a dedicated service for large/heavy items SHOULD reduce the stress but this was anything but that.
I'm sure AIT will say every crew has the highest standards is trained and experienced but we all know, that's just marketing. If I were in charge of AIT, I would be extremely worried about lazy crews like that ruining the reputation of the company.
All I can say to that crew who turned up is, do better or give up. Plenty of people around who'd be grateful of a job and would care - and if you were just having a bad day, here's some news for you, we ALL have bad days and we suck it up and do our jobs.

Unfortunately forced to deal with this company for a delivery via Dunelm.
I was given a delivery date and a window at 10pm the night before only for the delivery to be cancelled with no communication or notification until I went out of my way to click on the tracking myself at which point I was told the delivery was unable to made today - to be clear not that I had missed it, as I understand it the delivery never left the depot.
The page also said they would be in contact soon but I continued to hear nothing throughout the day and their live service chat had zero helpful details beyond “we will be in touch soon”.
The next morning I wake up to my phone buzzing at 7:40am on Sunday which I barely miss only to find that I cannot call them back because their own customer helpline doesn’t open until 9am on the weekends and in fact as I found out after waiting not at all on Sundays! Finally I manage to rearrange the delivery via the live service chat now with a whole weeks delay on my original date as my partner and I work full time and would not be able to accept deliveries before 6pm midweek which they did not even try to accommodate. Miserable customer service experience, would never use if I had the choice.

We received a message from AIT the day before our scheduled delivery, confirming the expected delivery timeframe. We stayed home to make sure we didn’t miss the delivery, but nothing arrived and there was no further communication from AIT.
The tracking information was then updated to “delivery unsuccessful: data error”, despite us being at home all day. We contacted AIT to find out what had happened and were told that they had been given the wrong package dimensions (obviously not by us; presumably by the retailer), meaning they were unable to deliver it. It was not something very large; just one office chair.
It’s extremely frustrating that AIT couldn’t identify this issue before the scheduled delivery and let us know, particularly as we had made arrangements to be at home all day waiting for the delivery.
We were told that someone would contact us to rearrange the delivery. However, nobody has been in touch and we have received no further communication or update.
Overall, a very poor delivery experience, with failed delivery, inaccurate tracking information and extremely poor customer communication. We would expect much better from a professional delivery service and will now seek to avoid retailers using them to deliver (or, in this case, not deliver).

Absolute nightmare from start to finish. Avoid AIT Home Delivery at all costs.
I paid extra for an early delivery slot, only to receive a message on the day informing me that the vehicle had been overloaded and my sofa had been moved onto a backup truck. So much for paying for a premium service. Instead of an early delivery, the drivers eventually arrived around 3:30pm.
What followed was genuinely disgusting. The two drivers seemed more interested in finding excuses not to do their job than actually completing the delivery. Despite the fact that delivering to a third-floor flat was clearly within company policy, they spent their time arguing why they shouldn’t have to carry the boxes upstairs. At one point they were literally laughing while I stood there trying to resolve the situation, seemingly pleased at the prospect of leaving without completing the delivery. It was one of the most unprofessional displays I have ever witnessed.
I then spent over an hour on the phone with AIT trying to get help. Shockingly, the situation only became worse. I was told the drivers were working through a third-party contractor, meaning nobody seemed to have any authority to make a decision or take responsibility. I was passed around, left on hold, and ultimately abandoned with four enormous sofa boxes sitting in the entrance of my building.
The entire experience was a masterclass in poor communication, lack of accountability, and terrible customer service. I have had countless furniture deliveries over the years, including large and difficult items, and have never experienced anything remotely this bad.
AIT Home Delivery completely failed to deliver the service I paid for and showed absolutely no interest in resolving the problem when things went wrong.
Without question, this was the worst delivery experience I have ever had. Avoid at all costs.

AIT home delivery.
What a bunch of jokers. They say "our ethos has always been centred around ensuring that the customer is permanently top of mind across every stage of the delivery process"
Well what a load of rubbish.
Email received - we will deliver between 10:55 - 12:55. Fantastic. Well 12:55 has gone. No updates given. Website still says this. An hour later the website now says that delivery will be between 18:00 and 20:00 (no communication received about this) and that the driver did not leave the depot until after 13:00. 20:00 arrives and passes, still no delivery (Guess what no communication). Let's check the details, oh, on drop 25 of 29. Never gets past this point. Driver has obviously given up and gone home. Fast forward to this morning. Check website as no emails - delivery completed, goes and checks, nope nothing there. Looks at time, hang on I was in the front garden at that time. Someone is lying. Get on to support. Told that the update was a mistake. Can not tell me when delivery will be attempted can only tell me that it will be rescheduled. When will this be? Rescheduling will take place later today, I will be told. I won't hold my breath. Service agent (Evie) left chat whilst I was still typing. Website updated an hour later now saying that the delivery is postponed with a reason of "Postponed within SLA" (Still no update received other than those I have sought myself).
The only thing at the top of AIT's mind was profit, not the customer. Communication - poor. Evry are bad but AIT take Evry's service level and move it downwards.
Edit - I have now waited the entire day for the company to reschedule the delivery. They have not done this. I was promised by Evie that the would contact me. They have not.
I have now gone to the retailer to try and resolve the problem. The retailer has told me that I have asked ATI to reschedule the delivery to the 31st. This is something that I have not done. I feel we need to add lying to the description of this company. When I have tried to contact ATI about the delivery they have now changed the message to tell me that I can not contact them about the delivery as they are waiting on instructions from the retailer.
WHAT A JOKE. Avoid at all costs.
