With over 11,500 branches the Post Office is the biggest UK retail network, with more branches than all banks and building societies combined. The Post Office provides services central to peoples’ everyday lives; We offer the UK’s largest fee free cash withdrawal network through our 11,500 branches and over 2000 ATMs and 99% of UK bank customers can access their accounts at the Post Office. We provide financial services including savings, insurance, loans, mortgages and credit cards; Government services; telephony; foreign currency; travel insurance and mail services. Post Offices branches remain highly valued and trusted, and are the focal point of many communities.
Hours listed are misleading - the Post Office section itself is only open until 17:30, after this it's the Morrisons counter for "out of hours" service.
Whilst I've previously got decent service here I had to use the "out of hours" counter this time and whilst I understand it isn't the Morrisons staffs primary role, the fact that they can means they should know information on postal options. Alas, I received childish shrugs, "I don't know" or just confusion to my quite simple (couple of) questions. This leaves me no confidence that my parcels are in compotent hands and that there was in fact (I now know) a more suitable option available for my circumstances. This needs addressing frankly, even if they just have a 'cheat sheet' of what's what behind the counter so they know what they talking about.

Phoned at 10:00. Recording asked me to leave name and number for a callback. I did - succinctly. Six hours later, no callback. So, I bought my euros from a professional outfit !!

Charge you more when buying in branch for services you can get cheaper online...why? Why are they trying to rip people off?

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service at Swaffham Post Office.20.02.26 all the lady with the glasses and white hair with the short hair
You should be ashamed of doing this.
You gain nothing personally from overcharging, yet the money comes directly out of my pocket. Why are you marking a small letter as a large letter when it is clearly not?
This is unacceptable and unfair. Misclassifying items and charging customers more than necessary is wrong. You should act responsibly and do your job properly. This kind of behavior damages trust and is simply not right.
On more than one occasion, my items were incorrectly classified, resulting in clear overcharging. A small letter weighing 20 grams (0.020 kg) was wrongly marked as a large letter and charged £4.85 (Second Class).
Two days later, I sent the exact same letter from Necton Post Office. It was 4 grams heavier, yet it was classified correctly and charged at the proper rate.
To make this even clearer, I sent a First Class Signed & Tracked letter weighing 24 grams from Necton for £3.60, which is £1.20 cheaper than the incorrect Second Class charge applied at Swaffham.
I also experienced the same issue with a small parcel. At Swaffham Post Office, I was quoted £14. The identical parcel was sent from Necton Post Office for £5.60.
These are not minor errors or one-off mistakes. This pattern shows a serious lack of accuracy and fairness. Because of this, I have completely lost trust in Swaffham Post Office and will not be using this branch again. I strongly advise customers to check every classification, weight, and price before paying.
