- JBJacqueline BraithwaiteAug 25, 20261.0When I went in to the post office, I was surprised to see that all of the self service counters had been taken out causing a long queue to see someone for stamps. One of the post office workers - a large older man, who is bald with glasses - was very rude to an Indian couple who clearly didn’t fully understand the postal system and what the options were. They wanted to post something and the man said that that option hasn’t existed for 10 years. He was very rude in the way that he was saying it, clearly getting frustrated at the couple. He could have easily resolved this issue by calmly telling them the options available but instead he was just snarky and aggressive making the other customers in the queue quite uncomfortable. I shared eye contact with one woman who was clearly feeling as uncomfortable as I was at the confrontation. At one point he said to them “I’m gonna ignore you for a moment. That’s a stupid question.” And towards the end he gave them a snarky comment of “you always get a receipt half way through the transaction. Never in the middle or at the start.” I was shocked by this poor level of costumer service and will be finding a different post office to go to next time I have a card to send.
