The staff is rude and doesn’t know one bit about being nice to customers.

I can’t recommend this post office highly enough. Every time I come in to return packages, the staff are genuinely kind, patient, and incredibly helpful. What really stands out is their dedication even on bank holidays, they’re there making sure people don’t miss out on getting the help they need.
It’s rare to find such consistently friendly service these days, but this team goes above and beyond every single time. They make what could be a chore feel easy and pleasant. A truly wonderful group of people who clearly care about their communit

I had an extremely frustrating experience with the Tollcross Post Office in Edinburgh while trying to ship personal items back to the U.S.
As someone traveling abroad for an extended period, I went in simply to send clothing and souvenirs home. From the start, the service was unhelpful and poorly guided. I explained to the clerk what I needed, but instead of walking me through the process, I was repeatedly sent away from the counter without clear instructions.
At no point was I initially given a customs form or told how to properly complete the shipment. Only after going back and forth multiple times was I handed the correct paperwork. As this was my first time shipping internationally, I expected at least basic guidance, which was not provided.
The most serious issue came after everything was submitted. Despite my email address being clearly written (twice), it was entered incorrectly into their system. As a result, I never received the notification to pay customs duties. Because of this error, my package was returned to Scotland and is now sitting at the post office.
To make matters worse, I have called the location multiple times a day for the past two weeks and no one answers the phone. I am now back in the U.S. with no way to retrieve my package or resolve the issue.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. A lack of communication, poor attention to detail, and zero follow-up have turned what should have been a simple process into a stressful and unresolved situation.
Update: I called the post office again today and finally someone answered. I explained to them that the email address was input into their system incorrectly and they completely denied that they made any error and that they put in whatever email address I gave them. Yet I had the email written on two separate forms and have had this email address pretty much my entire life so there’s no way that I wrote it down incorrectly. They refused to admit that they entered the email address incorrectly and told me that the only solution was for me to pay for another label so that I could have the box shipped back out. So instead of acknowledging that they may have made a mistake and correct the issue they just put it back on me to handle it. Then they tells me they’re only holding the box for two weeks and then it will be destroyed. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever had in 37 years of my life. I encourage everyone to avoid this post office.
