I have used this post office/shop for 20+ years, since the new owners have taken over I will never use this place again.
I tried to deposit £740 into my bank account, the guy counted my money then started screaming at me fake notes and that he was keeping my money. This really confused me and I asked to see proof of the fake notes. They wouldn't show me any proof, handed me back my money minus £20.
I explained that I was given this money only an hour ago on completion of a job I had done and if there was a fake note amongst the notes then I too had been been passed it. Now I asked to see proof that it was a fake note. The keeper put me out the shop and called the police saying I was being aggressive and threatening.
I was only asking to see proof that it was a fake note. They didn't show me anything or explain anything. For all I know they have scammed me. I tried to explain that he cant treat people like this, I still have no proof as to wither it was even fake or not.
In return to the shop to discuss this, the keeper has told me I'm barred. Really confusing experience. On leaving the shop I was speaking with another person outside and telling them what had just happened. This person told me that only a couple of days prior they had had purchased some things on the way to work and handed the shop keeper a £20 to which he was given change of £5. This man explained to me that he then argued with him for 20 minutes over the issue.
I have also been told stories of people topping up gas/electricity and returning home to find they have not topped up the keys. On return to the shop to query it, the person was instantly barred from the shop, no checking of the top up key or anything.
I think this new shop keeper is a very dishonest man, I genuinely believe he looks for victims and tries to scam people whenever he can.
