Impossible to get though via the phone to check last posting and a query. Dials in for ages then makes a screeching sound for a few mins that burns the ears. No response. Tried multiple times.

I visited this Post Office to find out why my postcard had been returned to me. The postal stamps were smudged and unreadable (stamps discrbing reson of return), which made it impossible to understand the reason for the return.
The staff member told me she did not know why this had happened and suggested it might be because my address was also written on the card. She then crossed out information on my postcard without my permission and told me to simply send it again.
When I asked again why the postcard had been returned, she replied: "I don't know, we are not Royal Mail, ask Royal Mail."
I find this response very unprofessional. Customers come to the Post Office for guidance regarding mail services. I do not understand how staff can distance themselves from Royal Mail services while handling postal items. Additionally, altering my correspondence without my consent was inappropriate.
Staff should receive better training in customer service and in handling postal enquiries properly.

Disgusting, I understand the rules and have nothing against them, but the situation was ridiculous. I arrived 10 minutes before closing time and I would have perfectly understood if they had told me, "Sorry, we're not accepting any more shipments today".
I get in line, reach the counter, and ask for an envelope to send my letter. They send me to the shelf opposite to pick one up and pay at another counter, all good. I stuff the documents into the envelope and quickly write the delivery address while listening, "there's only one minute left to close". I finish in a few seconds, go to the counter and the person behind the counter tells me "too late, we're closed" following the instructions of their manager who then left through the door.
I would never do that to a customer at my job; I would feel ashamed. I could tell someone who arrives that they're late. I could talk to them and invite them to come tomorrow, or politely explain the situation. "Look, our policy is not a minute over the hour". Absolutely respectable. But just so you know, I have some important documents to send, because I've stood in line, show the documents, asked for an envelope, bought them in front of you, and filled in the address as quickly as possible And when I go to the counter after seeing that I'm very interested in sending the letter, you tell me "too late"? Even if you don't take my letter, just a few kind words would have helped me not to feel like an idiot
