Avoid this Post Office if you can.
I’ve now had multiple experiences here — years apart, with different staff — where I’ve asked for a standard postage service and been repeatedly quoted for far more expensive options instead.
Today I asked for First Class Signed For. I was first quoted for next-day delivery, then for a guaranteed 48-hour service. Both times I had to correct the staff member and repeat what I’d actually asked for. Only after pushing back several times was I finally given the correct price.
I send packages regularly, so I know roughly what these services cost. The difference between what I requested and what I was being quoted was more than £10 compared to around £7.
It may not sound like a huge difference on one parcel, but if this is happening regularly with multiple customers each day, they’ll be making a significant amount of extra money from it. Judging by other reviews mentioning similar experiences, this obviously isn’t an isolated issue.
I took my parcel elsewhere in the end and won’t be returning.
