Exceptional service received today from Nina in the post office.self service section. She helped me through the process of getting my parcel labeled for an express next morning delivery. An absolute legend.

I had a parcel with a pre-printed Tracked 48 label on it. I went to drop it off at a self-service machine but it wouldn't scan and then a member of staff said I couldn't use the machine for that. I joined the queue where two people were in front of me. Then there were suddenly nine people behind me and no one was using the machines. One woman also tried to use the machine and man said no, join the queue! I have no idea why they have all these machines if you can't scan and drop off pre-printed labelled parcels here. Pointless and timewasting!

Terrible. Lost my package worth £500+ even though I had a return label. Still managed to do something which led to it being lost. I believe it was stolen once I told the woman at the desk of the post office how much it was worth. Unreliable and very strange

The customer service was excellent at the self-service counter in the Post Office. Nina was incredibly helpful, walked me through everything as well as ensured that she explained all the options and pros and cons of each. Amazing service and sure I was happy with the choice I made, as well as constantly smiling and helping everyone else. Her demeanour and willingness to step forward and help were both greatly appreciated

Unfortunately one team member lets down this entire branch. Nina runs the self service area, an often unused corner of the branch in comparison to the almost perpetually long queues for counter services. On a good day she walks up and down the queue looking for people who can be removed to her fiefdom; despite the self service machines being very limited, and offering only the most expensive, or slowest, postal options. Once she realises a person has a QR code for returns or collections which must be handled at the counter, she moves dismissively on without explanation or apology.
Today, unlike other times, she brought me into her office to deal with my QR code transaction - an Amazon return. She made it very clear that she was doing me a favour in order to help with the queue length, and I should not expect such treatment every time. Unfortunately she scanned the QR code, told me it was wrong, suggested I had confused the highly recognisable red "Post Office" logo with the yellow "In Post" logo and that I should leave and try to find one of their counters instead whilst escorting me out of her office post haste. Whilst queuing (from the back of the long counter queue) for the second transaction I needed to complete today, I cancelled the Amazon return, re-booking it as a Royal Mail collection instead, an option attracting a charge but seemingly my only option since the Post Office service was apparently no longer functioning. When at the counter, I asked when this Amazon return service had been removed from the branch. and a second colleague tried to help me by asking whether the QR code I had come in with looked like example A or B. Since QR codes are, by nature, unique, I'm unsure how this was going to help further matters.
On return to my office, a colleague told me that my original QR code should have been scanned by a handheld Amazon device, and not Nina's computer scanner. Reluctant to waste money on an unnecessary return charge, I reinstated my original transaction and returned to the Post Office to try again.
On seeing me in the (once again long) counter queue, Nina enquired whether I this time had "the right QR code". I explained that it was the same but I believe she had scanned it with the wrong system and that I would proceed with the counter staff instead this time. She was clearly unhappy and scathingly walked off to find another person to 'help'.
In extreme contrast, on seeing my QR code at her counter, Sindi calmly and competently picked up the entirely separate, correct, scanner, and processed my return quickly. This was a delightful contrast to the absurd amount of time I wasted today attempting to process anything with Nina.
My suggestion would be that training in both customer service (it is not hard to spend time with a quick "I'm so sorry, our machines don't have the facility for that transaction" versus walking off) and perhaps in the systems for services which her branch offers, would be time well spent for Nina.
