Formal Complaint Regarding Customer Service, Operational Standards, and Safety Concerns
To: Jayakkumar Vaithilingam
And Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the standard of service provided at the Kimmeridge Road Post Office franchise and the associated retail premises.
Over a prolonged period, I have experienced consistently poor customer service from members of staff. I have found staff to be rude, dismissive, unhelpful, and lacking in the communication skills expected when serving members of the public.
There appears to be little patience or willingness to assist customers, resulting in an unsatisfactory experience on multiple occasions.
In particular, I am concerned about the conduct and competence of the young male member of staff, whom I understand to be Sanjay cos the female staff member said his name but he allegedly gave his name as Michael Balakrishna, which is most likely false, he who operates the Post Office counter. On several occasions, he has appeared unfamiliar with Post Office procedures and services, has provided incorrect information, attempted to upsell products and services unnecessarily, and has refused services without providing a clear or reasonable explanation. I asked for the managers name and contact information email phone number it was not provided. So I was unable to file a direct complaint.
His customer service and communication skills fall significantly below the standard expected of someone serving the public.
I also have concerns regarding an older female member of staff who allegedly gave her name as kila/Quila not sure of spelling, she wasn't forthcoming and other employees who operate the shop and Post Office counter. I asked to the managers name and contact information email phone number it was not provided. So I was unable to file a direct complaint.
In my experience, they demonstrate poor communication skills, a lack of customer service training, and limited knowledge of the services they are expected to provide. Interactions with staff are often difficult due to their attitude and lack of professionalism.
As a community facility, the Kimmeridge Road branch has a responsibility to serve local residents fairly, professionally, and competently. Regrettably, this standard is not being met.
In addition, I have observed what I believe to be breaches of health and safety requirements, including parcels and stock being stored in a manner that obstructs fire exits and emergency escape routes. This presents a potential risk to both customers and staff and should be investigated urgently.
I understand that this is a family-run franchise and that staff are not direct employees of the Post Office.
However, this does not remove the responsibility to operate the business in accordance with legal requirements, customer service standards, and franchise obligations.
As a result of these concerns, I will be submitting reports and complaints to the relevant authorities, including:
•Bromley Council Trading Standards
•Bromley Council Environmental Protection
•Bromley Council Business Rates Team
•Post Office Limited and any relevant franchise oversight departments.
I will take this to the Ombudsman, Postal Redress Service (POSTRS).
•Any other appropriate regulatory bodies regarding potential malpractice, customer service failures, and operational concerns
I believe the business and its staff would benefit from comprehensive training in customer service, communication, customer satisfaction, Post Office procedures, and health and safety compliance.
I trust these concerns will be taken seriously and investigated appropriately.

Don’t order your relay parcel to this shop. They’re very rude and told me to “go away” because they need to “update their phone”

Post Office/shop is generally understaffed and overcrowded with items.
The parcel side of things is totally out of hand now - bags of parcels all over the floor near the postal counters and you're expected to find things yourself due to only 1 member of staff actually working
Sad really that it's overwhelming now
