- JJJosefSep 30, 20262.0I was getting stamps for a letter, but the man that served me (seated at the leftmost counter to where I was standing) was rather antagonistic and unapproachable. No 'hello' or 'thank you', and when I asked where to put my letter (after strictly making me put the stamp on the letter myself rather than just handling everything himself after I paid), his response was very curt and unfriendly. Perhaps I just caught him on a bad day, since the staff next to him were much friendlier to customers. This happened just before 4pm on 30 September 2026, if anyone's reading this. The post office itself was notably dark, which probably contributed to the low attitude of the man. I also couldn't see any self-service counters or even any signage, despite the pictures I saw on Google Maps. It felt very shabby inside, in high contrast to what the building looked outside. Nevertheless a rather uncomfortable experience and would go elsewhere next time I need stamps.

A friend of mine had a very concerning experience here today with an Indian male staff member at the counter. My friend brought £350 in cash to deposit into a Monzo account. The staff member checked the card, said it wasn't activated, and handed the cash back. My friend activated the card inside the shop without leaving, but when recount the money, there was only £250 left—£100 was missing! When my friend pointed this out and insisted on checking the CCTV, the Indian staff member pretended to check the registers, then simply pulled two £50 notes out of a side drawer and handed them back... Although the money was recovered in the end, this behavior is completely unacceptable. Everyone please be extremely cautious and recount your cash right at the counter!

However, the table for filling in forms is quite hidden, and with no signs pointing to it, it’s easy to miss. Great staff, just needs clearer guidance inside the shop.

The writing on my card was in the wrong places but she managed to figure out a trick in the printing to make sure it printed correctly. This took a bit of time but she did it so well while helping other customers at the same time to ensure no-one waited too long. She’s amazing! She made my day😊
