It’s so unprofessional to leave people waiting no apologies no eye contact. We had two people who were behind the counter one serving whilst chatting to her colleague the other one tidying. Surely, that could wait until customers have been attended to? It’s getting worst in there! Perhaps a manager needs to have objectives in place with all staff in order for it to work efficiently.

On 30/07/2026, I visited the branch regarding two parcels that hadn’t been delivered. The staff member I spoke to was noticeably unprofessional. I asked simple questions about my parcels, but her responses were dismissive and delivered with unnecessary attitude. She also spoke loudly in a way that felt confrontational rather than helpful. I understand the pressure that comes with being short‑staffed, but it doesn’t excuse speaking to customers in that manner. I’m simply asking for basic professionalism. ( if I could give it zero instead of 1 star, I would be happy to)

They never clean 🤮 The whole TGJones shop is dirty but the post office area is actively disgusting- filthy counter, actual piles of grime everywhere, obviously never vacuumed or mopped for months, if not years. I saw a lady stopping her child touching the counter! See my photos, which were taken after weeks of dry weather so don't blame the rain for the literal mud on the floor. The older gentleman manager said "we have to clean when we get a minute between customers" No you don't- you shut at 5.30 so stay half an hour late once a week instead of running a slovenly gross pit of a business. Disgusting.

Having a Post Office in Forest Hill is genuinely valuable, but unfortunately the service here is below average. The overall customer experience leaves a lot to be desired. The space feels dated, and the counter area often looks cluttered and poorly maintained. Even basic improvements, such as updating worn posters and signage, would help create a more professional and cared-for environment. Queue times are very inconsistent. I’ve experienced waits of over 30 minutes, although at other times there’s no queue at all. Unless you visit during a quieter weekday period, delays are quite likely. Part of the issue may be that Post Offices are now expected to provide an increasing range of services, but it doesn’t feel like the staffing or resources here have kept pace with that demand. Staff interactions are mixed. At times they can come across as abrupt or disengaged, although there are examples of staff working efficiently and keeping things moving. I’ve also experienced the branch being closed during advertised opening hours (for example, lunch breaks without cover), which has resulted in wasted trips. Overall, while it’s an important local service, the experience here isn’t the best but could be significantly improved with some focus on better organisation, resourcing, and adding an bit of attention to the customer experience.
