Is it me or does the whole post office system need a massive re-think. This is my local PO.
Good points:
1. Friendly staff
2. They open late
Bad points:
1. Long queues - often they snake out the door
2. Rarely ever more than one person behind the counter
3. They open at 9am (good luck for those who need to do any transactions before work).
4. They don’t sell post officy type stuff (or at least not visibly) you know, the obvious stuff like envelopes, packaging, sellotape.
To be honest, the only thing I use it for is to return parcels.

I have visited this place several times, and each time only one counter is open, which leads to extremely long queues. The staff are also very rude and unhelpful.

It use to be useful post office back in a day, even-thought the members of the staff are rude and without motivation for their daily work.
Now with the new opening times is impossible to send or collect parcels in our own convenience. They have 2 tills to assist the costumers but I always seen only one in use which creates massive queues that they do not know how to quickly clear. Unfortunately there are not any other post office closer in the area to avoid coming to this one.

Visited the Abbey Wood branch at Felixstowe Road today to exchange £755 into euros. At no point was I told the exchange rate before the transaction was completed. I only found out from the receipt that the rate applied was 1.06, when the Post Office’s own online rate that same day was 1.13 and other branches were offering 1.12. That is a significant difference on nearly £755. When I went back to raise it, the cashier refused to give her name and the manager Seth Kumi declined to give a refund. I have now submitted a formal complaint to Post Office head office and will be escalating to the Financial Ombudsman if not resolved. Customers should be warned to ask for the rate in writing before handing over any cash at this branch.
