- MPMark PowleyMay 16, 20201.0Have used the post office counter here several times in the past and always found it to be very convenient, efficient & friendly. But not today. The staff member on the counter was very blunt/curt and would not accept my posting of a small parcel that contained educational materials. According to her, only food and medicine is permitted to be posted during COVID-19. This contradicts with a different lady who did let me post an item here exactly 6 days ago - and that wasn’t food or medicine. And the Post Office Chief Executive, Nick Read, doesn’t seem to agree either - I quote: "The vast majority of Post Offices are open. Many are located in convenience stores, newsagents or stand-alone branches that are allowed to be open by the government. Customers are able to get cash, deposit cheques, pay bills as well as send and collect parcels. These are vital services, particularly for many vulnerable customers.” I won’t be using this outlet again in the future: very poor attitude from this member of staff during these challenging times.
