complaint regarding the quality and condition of food products sold at your store, as well as concerns about the standard of customer service provided to customers. On several occasions, I have purchased products that were not in an acceptable condition. For example, chocolate biscuits have been warm and mouldy when opened, and the chocolate on these products is frequently melted. On another occasion, I purchased butter which was noticeably soft and had passed its use-by date. I have also previously purchased milk that was still within its stated date but was curdling at the top and had a distinctly sour smell. These incidents are concerning, particularly as they raise questions about how food products are being stored, refrigerated, monitored and checked before being placed on sale. Customers should be able to reasonably expect that products are safe, fresh, appropriately stored and fit for consumption. I am also concerned about the standard of customer service. I have experienced behaviour that has made me feel that customers are not treated consistently or with the same level of respect. There have been occasions where staff have appeared reluctant to acknowledge or greet certain customers, and I feel that the level of customer service can be selective depending on the individual. This creates an uncomfortable and unwelcoming environment. More concerningly, when customers attempt to raise legitimate concerns about products, there can be an attitude suggesting that the customer is being dishonest or attempting to make an unreasonable complaint. This is particularly discouraging for customers who may be vulnerable, including young people, or those who may feel uncomfortable with confrontation. Customers should not feel intimidated or discouraged from reporting concerns about products that may not be fit for purpose. I believe the store should review its procedures for checking product dates and monitoring food quality, as well as investigate whether food is being stored at appropriate temperatures and under suitable conditions. Staff should also be reminded of the importance of treating every customer with courtesy, dignity and respect, regardless of who they are. Unfortunately, these experiences have resulted in me choosing to travel further to larger supermarkets rather than shop at your store. I should not have to do this simply to have confidence that the food I am purchasing is safe and of an acceptable standard. I would appreciate it if this complaint were taken seriously and investigated appropriately. I would also welcome a response explaining what steps will be taken to address the concerns I have raised, particularly regarding food storage, product-date checks, food quality and customer service.

Ahhh I do always look forward to visiting this post office to be treated by the man behind the counter as if me spending my money in his post office / shop is some sort of inconvenience for him. As others say, apart from this it’s a lovely little shop, so it’s such a shame that having to go there isn’t a particularly pleasant experience.
