Rang again and this time the man who answered said he was closed because it was his half day. I said that I knew that but he wasn't supposed to close until 13:00. He mumbled something about getting confused over days and eventually opened the door. I need to send something signed for but couldn't as (6 days before Christmas!) he had run out of signed for labels and as the post had already gone, he wouldn't let me leave the item as he couldn't register it. He seemed completely unaware of basic post office processes and even of what day it was.
