    the irish man at the post office is SO rude. No care for customer service, throws fragile parcels, cuts people off mid sentence and is just rude and nasty. uncomfortable to be served by him- purely seems to hate his job and the amount of negative feedback seems to be all about him

    Sorry to share another comment about the Irish gentleman, but unfortunately his attitude and customer service are appalling. On a previous occasion, he refused to let me change to a cheaper postage option, even before I had paid. Today, he was rude to both myself and another customer, which made for a very unpleasant experience. I actively avoid going into this post office and try to find alternative ways to send parcels or make payments because of previous interactions. I understand that people working in customer service roles, like myself, often have to deal with difficult customers and challenging situations. However, on both occasions I have been polite and have done nothing wrong, yet his attitude towards me felt unnecessarily hostile and unwelcoming. I must say that the other woman working today was lovely. She was polite, patient, and courteous with customers, and her professionalism was greatly appreciated.

    It’s ironic how there’s a poster in there asking you to treat the staff with respect and kindness, when that Northern Irish bloke is perhaps the rudest most unhelpful worker I’ve ever come across. Years of bad reviews about JUST HIM and yet he’s still working there! Every other member of staff has been brilliant in the 3 years I’ve been visiting, I’m just looking forward to when he retires 👍

    The Northern Irish man there dropped an album i was sending over the glass window into the Evri sack and damaged a £40 album before it had even got into the postal system. He did this right in front of me! I couldn't believe it, it never stood a chance. I had taken a picture of it before I sent it and when it arrived with my Customer he messaged me to say it arrived damaged and I had to refund him £40 and let him keep it as a gesture of good will, leaving me £40 + postage out of pocket. He sent me a picture to prove it so I knew straight away that it was caused by the man in the post office. They have a sign up asking customers to treat the staff with respect which I think is hypocritical when he doesn't treat the customers or their goods with the same respect himself. How can we trust the Royal Mail when he shows no respect for the customers that pay his wages and even worse he treats our parcels (marked Fragile) with little or no respect himself and has the audacity to do it write in front of us! Is it any wonder people get upset and does he not understand how his actions do nothing positive for Royal Mail whatsovever. If he dislikes his job and the customers that keep him in that job so much then perhaps he shouldn't be in a customer service role at all. The women that work in the Headingley post office are all lovely and very friendly and professional but he manages to undo all their hard work with his bad attitude and how he treats our parcels. This is not the first time I have witnessed him do this. If he can't be bothered to walk round and place the parcels in the sack then they should put the sack behind the counter so he's not dropping parcels in the sack from a height. I made sure the album was well packaged before I sent it, but it doesn't stand a chance when it's being dropped from that height into a sack in front of my eyes. I couldn't believe it when I saw it but I knew immediately that it was damaged and it hadn't even left the post office. What chance did it ever have of arriving safely when those sort of things are being allowed to happen? My customers think Royal Mail is the best service to use and are willing to pay extra to use or but I tell them it's a waste of money because the post office is the problem not the courier. Is it any wonder the Royal Mail is losing so much money when employees of the post office are treating both customers and parcels with contempt in this way. I was going to say something at the time but if you raise anything negative you get accused of being disrespectful to the staff and they use that against you, hence why I've put it in writing. Respect is earned and while this guy is acting in this way the respect he gives the parcels and the customers is low and so he must expect the same in return. You get what you give! If he wants to be treated with respect, and im all for that , he needs to start by respecting his customers, our parcels and the Post Office itself because at the moment he is letting all of us down with his bad attitude and his poor service.
