Things were okay when I got in, greeted well and everything but when I requested that I want special delivery because I have an important document in my package, he started telling me you don't have to do that, and he started asking other people to validate his point but the way he was doing it was telling people my reason for being in the Post Office which I didn't appreciate. He said, I did not have to but I knew my situation and I knew the reason I had to send that document in. I didn't have to, but I could, and that is a decision that I had made and I felt like my choice was being taken away from me.
He kept going on and on about how I wasn't listening to him and he actually said, "I'm not rude, but you're making me this way" which is not an excuse. There is never an excuse for being rude. I felt gas lighted but just kept quiet throughout. I could have defended myself or argued. I'm sure some people in the Post Office may have expected me to do so but I didn't have time and energy for that as I'd just fit this between work but he kept explaining and asking me "do you want to do this?" I had willingly come to do this and this is what I wanted to do, but he got me flustered and delayed. I got really scared, you know, I'm thinking, is my parcel going to go through or is it going to be compromised so that he could say, I told you so?
When I wanted to pay, after waiting, I think I got into the Post Office at 1049, but I got served at around 11:02, that's when he told me that with your card, go withdraw cash from outside but I had to wait for a good 10 plus minutes.
The postal order fee was 65 but my total was 92 and I still cannot explain what the £25+ was for because I didn't go through with this payment at another Post office as I'd left my card but those weren't the figures I got and now I totally regret. He said 'it's fine if you want to send, more money for me'.
I would have just appreciated clear explanations of what costs what but he gave off patronising/misogyny/R undertones.
I just really did not appreciate the service.
In a world where you can be anything, be kind. Don't stir up negative emotions in people who are already trying hard to keep together things that you don't know about!
