- JLJonathan LewisOct 1, 20241.0Difficult to understand how the Post Office can allow such a woeful level of service as provided in Denby Dale. Whilst the Post Mistress is pleasant enough, when she is there, she seems to open when she feels like it, closes for the merest whim and disappears off on ‘holiday’ with no notice, and no cover. If you are going into the village for something else and it happens to be open then count yourself lucky, if you are going for a specific reason, I suggest Upper Cumberworth a mile up the road. Opening hours are long and always adhered to, with lovely people to boot. What a proper Post Office should be!

As a 1 person run Post Office in a village, day in day out, I don't have any issue with the occasional closures to restock the cash machine, run an errand or take a very well earned holiday. If I have something urgent that can't wait there is always Upper Cumberworth, Skelmanthorpe, Scissett to bridge the gap.

- GGGymflyJul 25, 20231.0Worst post office I have ever used anywhere. Opening time states 10:30am, I arrived at 10:45am-Closed, no-one inside, no note. Another member of the public said their husband uses elsewhere as its so unreliable. The other week, there was a note "back in 10 minutes." I waited 25 minutes, and the staff member returned with a Tesco bag, no apology. There isn't a tesco in Denby Dale? Never opens on time or in conjunction with displayed opening times or those online. Staff come across like they are unhappy to be there. Opening/service seem to be a known issue with locals. Terrible postal service. Use elsewhere if you can.

Why did my Post Office refuse to issue change?
If you’ve registered for the Change Giving service, you shouldn’t be refused change at your nominated Post Office branch.

If you’ve signed up but aren’t using your nominated branch, it’s at that branch’s discretion whether they have enough change available to fulfil your request.
