Where to start. I am in tears. I tried to post a Christmas present for my wife. I was on my lunch break and walking the dog. Was told on entering that I could not enter with my dog in an un-friendly tone. I explained that I do not like to leave my dog outside and was next in line and could they reconsider? Said no I must take the dog outside. I did not know this as other shops in bare allow well behaved dogs and there was no notice. Fair enough. The woman who was leaving kindly offered and took my dog outside. The man behind the counter (elderly man with glasses) asked me to weigh said small parcel-in an aggressive tone then said, ‘what's in it?’ I said just a small gift from my wife to her friend-no liquids-nothing -electronic batteries, nothing excluded for health and safety from what I could remember. In an even more aggressive tone, he said he was not going to take it as he needed to know exactly what was in it! He was clearly baiting me and was clearly the agitator despite my plea as it was the last postal day. I said I would call my wife and ask her. She did not pick up the phone at this point. Again, I pleaded again to serve me as it was the last postal day before Christmas and my dog was outside with a stranger. He then aggressively said I am no longer serving you and pointed to the ‘be polite/respect’ notices in the window! what a horrible man! how dare you talk to me like that and expect any respect from me. You were the instigator and aggressor. You are supposed to be providing customer service and be the face of the post office. I said he was being unreasonable and that he was deliberately being an 'A Hole' and left. I composed myself and called my wife and she said the parcel contained a bar of soap and Christmas decoration. I returned to the shop with the postmaster blocking my entry at the door which was a total over reaction to the whole situation that he caused himself and the on the phone (to his boss?) pointing to CCTV cameras with a stony face. I managed to explain through the gap that it was a bar of soap, but him and his assistant refused to serve me. I said I might call the police ( I was livid, so perhaps an overreaction on my part) as I believed I had been bullied for no reason whatsoever and that he was deliberately over reacting to suit his own aggressive agenda towards me and make out I was being aggressive or abusive. This is not just not me. I sarcastically wished him a merry Christmas and walked off in a daze. What a very strange little angry man. I am considering my next actions and will be requesting a recording of said CCTV as I do not trust this bully one bit. I am not usually an overly emotional man but due to other circumstances in my life you really have upset me today. All over a small parcel with a bar of soap in it. The post office needs to consider sending you on customer service training going forward. Merry Christmas
