- JWJohn WoodMar 20, 20261.0Firstly it is important to differentiate between The Post Office on Abbey Street and Royal Mail on Infant Street. This review relates to The Post Office. Recently renewed my passport online and asked my wife to post the old passport on a "signed for" basis as suggested by the Gov.uk website. Cost approx £3.60. The person at Abbey Street, Accrington, Post Office told her that because it is a passport it "NEEDS" to be sent on a tracked basis and charged £9. My wife wasn't sure and went ahead with the PO employee's advice. That person is giving false information in order to upsell products. A complete Rip Off and in future I/we will be using the Avenue Parade or other sub post office.
