As a local novelist I'm always popping in with paperback to post, generally after playing tennis at the Bromley Tennis Centre. This guy Sanjay is a superstar. Nothing too much trouble, always cheerful, always helpful, always finding a way. Don't know how he does it, really, but just wanted to say THANKS!!!

Been going here for years, never had an issue and always been promptly served. I know it can be busy when the school children all pile in for sweets at 3:30pm but the wait is never too long.
If you don’t want to go there when it’s busy then avoid 3:30-4pm other than that time I’ve always been served politely and quickly.

RUDE, RUDE,RUDE-APPALLING SERVICE!
I am reading the positive reviews about Sanjay with disbelief as I have been supporting this local post post for 23 years and I have always dreaded popping in to post parcels or cards. Is this the same guy they discussed in their reviews, namely an elderly, balding Indian man? How can he be such a Jekyll & Hyde character?
Today was the worst experience I'can remember having in a shop.
I popped in today to return a parcel at 3.35pm, which was the wrong time as I had forgotten it was school closing time, so lots of children coming in- my mistake.
A blonde lady was returning her parcels in front of me, so I had my QR code up and ready to show Sanjay, as I always do. Unfortunately, after Sanjay dealt with her, and even though he saw me next, without first saying he needed to attend to the schoolchildren, he then dealt with them for 25 MINS!! I didn't say anything for the first 15 min, but after that time I did politely call over to him and ask him how long he would be. He said he'd finish with them first- not telling me how much longer he would be.
After 25 mins there was a lull; without apologising or even smiling, Sanjay came over. I told him he was being rude for not having acknowledged my presence in the first place and not letting me know how long he would be, at which point he got angry and refused to serve me and served an elderly man behind me and also a younger man in his forties. What shocked me was that neither of these men said that Sanjay should serve me first, as I would have done in their shoes.
Finally he served me - perhaps because there were a couple of ladies waiting behind me and he knew them and didn't want to lose their good opinions?
Maybe I got him on a bad day, but my mother and my solicitor's training taught me to be polite at all times, in the latter case always with clients.
I will never go back to to him in the future , even though I have always tried to support my local Post office.
Luckily nowadays there are so many other options and post offices nearby.
Enough is enough-politeness and good manners is everything, or should be.
