- LRLouis ReneSep 22, 20261.0My parcel was rejected 3 times by this post office as one male staff claimed the rule: that my recipient address needs to be translated into English. Whereas I only wrote CHINA in bold, is not good enough for him. After I explained the rule, that it can be in Mandarin OR English and stated that I’ve posted successfully for 20 years, he chose to ignore and rejects my parcels. The second time I asked him (this was 2024) whether he would expect me to write a post card address translated into English too when this matter happened again, he said yes 😂 without any thoughts or concerns so I think he must not write or post a lot. He states that this is the rule because he has worked here for 30 years. Ahem. I think for my most recent read on Royal Mail, this particular staff needs a bit of brush up with his training. Along with the female staff who agree with him today (22nd September 2026) when it’s now the 3rd time that this had happened. I rang the post office number today and politely explained that this was stated online, hoping they could understand, because is my closest post office and I do not wish to waste my time again and again popping further. This particular male staff said I have too much time in my hand, where he saw me many times pushing a buggy popping over and over again. The correct attitude to speak to anyone? Three trips, approx 1 hr of my life wasted of an unprofessional staff, when I could be spending quality time with my baby. I hope one day this screen shot would make sense to him. As I would see only logical that you write the country name in both languages and not to waste more time and space in writing irrelevant info to confuse postmen. (If anyone understand, most of the time it’s gonna be in Pinyin —— will just look stupid) My sender add is in full English so if parcel posted unsuccessfully, it’s returned to the uk and to the correct address. Simple logic that he doesn’t understand. My phone conversation is recorded, this will only be provided if needed due to his phone manners and whether he was able to listen to customers requests. I truly hope that people are able to work together logically, efficiently, politely, consolidate often with rules and guidelines to make this borough a happy environment for now and the future.
